German Historical Museum
The German Historical Museum in Berlin was founded in 1987 on the occasion of the city’s 750th anniversary celebrations and then became a pan-German historical museum upon the country’s reunification.
The exhibition 1914–1918. The First World War, which was on display in Berlin in 2014, was the only one of its kind. NOUS developed the multimedia guide for the special exhibition, with which visitors had the choice of a short or a long tour around the exhibition and which was arranged according to 14 war zones. A “free” tour was also available so that visitors could explore the various exhibits independently. More in-depth material enabled visitors to open audio and explanatory texts and further broaden their knowledge. Connections were made to the various battlefields, while political and cultural centers, as well as their historical consequences, were explained in detail.
A specially developed tour for young adults concluded with an interactive quiz that offered the young adults an opportunity to test their knowledge.
