Making Theatre Come to Life

    • As the umbrella organisation of the Austrian state theatres, the Austrian Bundestheater Holding includes the State Opera, the Volksoper, the Burgtheater as well as the Vienna State Ballet and their service companies, for which NOUS has already been allowed to design new websites in the past. We used the experience and knowledge gained from the projects with the State Opera or the Burgtheater to optimise and redesign the new website of the Bundestheater Holding. The website, based on Django/Python, communicates the tasks of the holding company and also offers a daily updated overview of the performances of the houses. The performance data is taken from the central scheduling database. Wagtail, a particularly user-friendly content management system (CMS), is used. Special attention was paid to a fully responsive view of the website, which takes into account the different requirements of different end devices and is therefore easy to use. The site has been made clearer and now not only facilitates access to service information, but also enables a compact tour of the Austrian Federal Theatres.
