Story-Telling as social interaction

NOUS is leading partner in the international research and development project "hiStory - Sharing your Stories of Heritage", which is funded within the EU-Program "Active & Assisted Living (AAL)". The overarching goal is the social inclusion of older adults (65+): A topic that is becoming increasingly important in times of the Covid19 pandemic (and beyond).

From April 2022, hiStory will offer an analogue and digital eco-system to enable and support the entire storytelling process (oral history): The innovative hiStory App co-developed by NOUS in the project will make it possible to record, share and manage stories by older adults themselves or together with relatives, friends or professional moderators. Interested institutions such as social and health organizations, museums, tourism organizations, schools or universities can use the tools that hiStory will provide in the future (moderation guidelines, recording app, moderator portal) as well as contents available on the hiStory website.

Older adults in particular can look back on a life full of personal stories and memories: telling and sharing these memories opens up a multitude of experiences - for the narrator as well as for the audience. The common act of sharing also alleviates social isolation, connects people of different generations and includes their stories in the collective history of our society.
